Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio she dropped out of high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. It was a struggle to survive at the time she landed her first acting role in the film Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal protagonist for two seasons and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to pursue a more significant role in film, appearing alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. She was as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. She reprised the role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the main character Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes, playing Shannon. She appeared in 2013's six-season of Californication. She portrays Faith as a female groupie as well as a model for actors. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the older sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager she appeared in small roles in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her sister in Donnie Darko, a famous cult film. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performance in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) and in the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her a Golden Globe Award nomination. After a string of commercially successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). She was recognized as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom in Crazy Heart. In the following years she was a part of comedies and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Her other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent of Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the title role. Gyllenhaal made her debut as a writer and director in 2021, with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
